BW Packaging expands Hayssen portfolio with new X650 long-dwell flow wrapper
ST. LOUIS — Oct. 28, 2026 — BW Packaging, Barry-Wehmiller’s packaging machinery business, has unveiled the Hayssen X650, a long-dwell, bottom-fed flow wrapper engineered to help manufacturers achieve reliable hermetic seals, simplify sanitation and maintain product quality in demanding production environments.
Designed with cheese manufacturers in mind, the X650 also supports other hygiene-sensitive applications, including individually quick-frozen foods and fresh produce, where sanitation and seal integrity are critical.
Joining the Hayssen X850 in BW Packaging's growing flow wrapping portfolio, the X650 is designed to help manufacturers improve seal quality, simplify sanitation and reduce operational complexity in high-hygiene production environments.
"Manufacturers operating in high-hygiene environments face increasing pressure to maintain product quality while improving operational efficiency," said Meeghan Sheppard, Product Manager, Flow Wrapping, BW Packaging. "The Hayssen X650 combines dependable hermetic sealing, hygienic machine design and intelligent automation in a solution that's easy to operate and built to support consistent production performance."
A standout feature of the X650 is its Jam Detection Technology, which helps protect both product and package integrity. If a product is out of position, the machine's jaws automatically detect it and open before contact occurs, helping prevent product damage and seal-area contamination. The machine can then create a double-length package and track it for downstream rejection when an optional reject system is included.
Built for demanding production environments, the X650 combines long-dwell sealing technology, full washdown construction and intuitive controls to support consistent performance and efficient daily operation at speeds up to 150 packs per minute. Features such as RFID login, recipe-driven settings and the OpView™ human-machine interface help streamline changeovers and simplify troubleshooting.
